No Vitamin C For Vizsla Breeds

vizsla breedsEach breed of dog is different in what their nutritional and supplemental needs are. The Vizsla breeds are no different in that regards. Vizsla dogs have their own set of requirements and standards to follow.

Recommended for Vizsla breeds is to feed them nutrient sources that are similar to their native land, Hungary. This will give them the proper balance of nutrients, vitamins, protein, carbohydrates, fatty acids and minerals. Some suggest a mix of poultry, wheat, barley and rye combined with pork, beef and oats. You can find recipes on the Web.

While some vitamins are recommended for Vizsla dogs it really depends on their age, sex, weight and level of activity. No vitamin C is advised for Vizsla's since it can do kidney and liver damage.

Proof That Hungarian Vizslas Are Good With Children

This is all the proof you need to see that the Hungarian Vizsla breed are good with children and especially babies. Even when somebody in the video says, "Most people would be freaking out," obviously in reference to the Vizsla licking the face and body of the baby. But surely mom & dad know their dog quite well and felt completely comfortable allowing this to happen.

Another video I watched showed a toddler pulling out the bed underneath a Vizsla puppy. Even when he could not get his bed back not only did the dog not mind but he also kept coming back and licking (kissing) the child, no jumping, growling or anger at all. This is very good evidence that your children will be safe around Vizsla dogs and that they are good members to add to your family.

Where To Find A Quality Vizsla Puppy

vizsla puppyOnce you have decided that a Vizsla puppy is the one you want and have made up your mind for a price you want to pay there are other things you will need to consider. Finding a reputable puppy source is your next step.

Your first and easiest choice might be a Pet Shop but this would probably be the worst place to purchase your Vizsla puppy or any dog for that matter. Puppies sold at a Pet Shop are highly likely to come from a puppy mill. They will be poorly bred and could have health problems and temperament problems.

Next, you might choose a Backyard breeder. This would also be a very poor decision. Many Backyard breeders are in it just for money, they generally do not care about breeding, health standards or following the proper methods of raising puppies. They are in it for the quick sell.

Your best bet is to go with a Hobby breeder. The majority of them are serious about their breeding practices and are not in it solely for the money. They breed dogs because they love them and take pride in how they are raised and cared for. They have strong concerns about where their puppies are going and in what kind of environment. They also stand behind every dog they breed. You will pay the same amount here as the previous 2 places and sometimes a little less.

What You Can Expect To Pay From A Vizsla Dog Breeder

vizsla dog breederIs there ever a price tag on a true friend, a loyal and loving companion and a skilled and dedicated hunting mate? For many, no price would seem too high for such a perfect pet, but for those of you who are wondering what to expect when you do go out to purchase your Vizsla dog here is a good idea of the money you will have to come up with.

The Vizsla dogs are not the most expensive animals you can buy nor are they the cheapest. As far as pure bred dogs go they are probably at the medium to high range in price and of course worth every penny.

Some research actually provided us with a very wide range of prices from various Vizsla dog breeders from all over the world. We found the lowest prices to be from $375.00 U.S. dollars all the way up to $1,550.00 for Hungarian puppies said to be bred in their country of origin. On average we found the price range to fall in the $600.00 - $700.00 dollar range.

Bathing Vizsla Puppy

Bathing your Vizsla puppy may turn in to more of play time than actually getting him clean. You see the Vizsla dog breed loves water. If your Vizsla does not, then he is definitely a 'fish out of water' because we have yet to see a Vizsla who does not love the stuff.

As this video demonstrates Vizslas have no problem when you stick them in a bathtub with some water in it. They are not shaking or scared, there is no attempts to jump over the side and escape out the door, no shaking off the water on their skin. These guys simply love to be wet and play in it.

The hardest time you will have when you are trying to get your Vizsla puppy clean is to actually get them clean. They are having way to much fun for that!

Are Vizsla's Friendly With Other Dogs?

vizslasAre Vizsla's friendly with other dogs? Vizsla's are generally loving, demonstrative and gently natured but can also be a bit willful and distractible. They are very smart but need a firm hand when trained.

They may be too energetic for very young and small children but for older children they would be perfect.

They do generally get along very well with other dog breeds. But the key is to exercise them plenty and as with any breed, raise them properly. You need to socialize the Vizsla dog breed well and get them accustomed to all people, places and animals. It should not be hard to do since Vizsla's are also highly trainable and very willing to please.

Vizsla Dog Breed - Best Kept Secret

vizsla dog breedThis past week I took a very unscientific poll among my friends, family and co-workers. What I wanted to know, was if any of them had heard of the Vizsla dog breed. Out of the 20 people I asked only 1 had heard of them and 2 thought they had heard of them. The other 17 people had never heard of the Vizsla dogs.

How can this be when they are considered one of the best hunting dogs and family pets out there? Maybe it is just a very well kept secret. One that Vizsla owners don't want everyone else to know about. Just maybe. I mean why would they want to share their version of Man's Best Friend with anyone else? They might just want to keep this all to themselves
